For this demanding project, we created a stunning interior for a new bar and hangout spot at the University of Bristol Students Union building. Under a tight time schedule we produced a modern, sleek and colourful range of free-standing furniture to compliment our custom built booth seating, a stage space/cushioned area and wall benches to accommodate hundreds of students in this new gathering space. Predominantly made in locally-sourced Ash, our furniture offers a mix of spaces - intimate, open plan and private. A bespoke black-stained Oak feature table snakes down the centre of the space, tying the bar at one end to the stage area at the other.
A House for Essex was designed by Grayson Perry and FAT Architecture. It is both an artwork in itself and the setting for a number of works by Grayson Perry exploring the special character and unique qualities of Essex. The building has been designed to evoke a sense of tradition of wayside and pilgrimage chapels. It belongs to a history of follies, whilst also being deeply of its own time. Aron was one of the chief Millimetre fabricators on this breathtaking build.
